Drops of Rain

I watch the drops of rain patter on my window
Will they ever know what it's like
To be part of something bigger, an ocean or a river
Do they wish as they fall to the ground they had someone else to fall with?
Do they look around, do they find the clouds divulging droplets by design
Do they wait, do they hope, do they dare to dream
Of a new beginning as a brook or as a stream
Did they choose to fall from the clouds? Did they wish to strike the ground?
How will they return to that castle in the sky, so high?
It's just a matter of time
I watch the drops of rain with breathless anticipation
What can I learn from this resolute precipitation
There's something more, there's a hidden door
If it's true, I'll step on through
I walk through life and learn of my destination, setting expectations
See the beauty of the rain, feel its pain, gaining all that I can gain
But I'm not constrained by the rules of the rain, not restrained
I can make a change
I choose the direction that I go, the path that I follow
The road that leads me home
Did I choose to fall from the clouds? Will I choose to strike the ground?
I will make this life of my design, I'll climb
It's just a matter of time
I watch the drops of rain with breathless anticipation
What can I learn from this resolute precipitation
There's something more, there's a hidden door
If it's true, I'll step on through
I watch the drops of rain with breathless anticipation
What can I learn from this resolute precipitation
There's something more, there's a hidden door
If it's true, I'll step on through

Ab Abmaj7
I get on my bike and I ride up the mountain
Dbmaj7/Ab
I take my four strings on the road
Ab Abmaj7
The cars pass close by me, my breathing is heavy
Dbmaj7/Ab
My legs hardly carry the load
Cm7 Bm7 Bbm7
The wrought-iron gates round the corner
Ebsus4/Bb Eb/Bb Ab7/C
Will be closed by the time I come back
Dbadd9 C7 Fm
I sail on through as the sky fades from blue
Ab+ Bbm7 Abmaj7/C
With precious minutes before it turns black
Dbmaj7 Ebsus4 Eb
Abmaj7 Ab7
When the sun kisses down on the bustling town
Dbmaj7/Ab Dbm6/Ab
The sounds hardly touch me up here
Fm7/C Bb7 Eb7/Bb
I'm singing my songs as the evening passes on
Absus4 Absus2 Dbmaj7/Ab
Streaks of red and gold appear
Cm7 Bm7 Bbm7
How many ghosts do I sing to tonight?
Ebsus4/Bb Eb/Bb Ab7/C
How many ears turned my way?
Dbadd9 C7 Fm
How can I pay my respects all the more
Bbm7 Dbm6/Ab Ab6/9
To those that have nothing to say?

Just another Saturday morning
My alarm starts off the day, chasing dreams away
The rain on my glasses, and the wind in my hair, feels foreign
Without a shadow of a doubt, I know it will all turn out
Okay
Just another Saturday afternoon
Sun is in the sky, you are on my mind
I can't wait to see you soon
To buy things we don't need, to get out there and seize
The day
And when I think of you and me
And all the time we've got ahead
Just wait and see how beautiful our lives will be
'Cause who knows what the future holds?
It's gonna be big, it's gonna be bright, it's gonna be bold
And girl, you got me sold
What an extraordinary day
My world came crashing down
And in the middle of it all I found you smiling bright as day
Lying by my side you found me
It all fits together when your arms are around me
And when I look into your eyes
It's no surprise, I see my future by your side
Hand in hand, against the the world, just you and I
'Cause who knows what the future holds?
It's gonna be big, it's gonna be bright, it's gonna be bold
And girl, you got me sold
